Editor's Review
Fate/Grand Order (FGO) is a story-rich mobile RPG developed by Delightworks and published by Aniplex, set in the beloved Fate universe created by Type-Moon. The game introduces players to a grand narrative filled with legendary heroes, gods, kings, and mythical figures known as Servants. You step into the role of a Master, traveling across different eras to restore humanity’s future by resolving time distortions called Singularities.
FGO blends strategic, turn-based combat with gacha summoning mechanics and deep world-building. Hand-drawn character art, emotional voice acting, and intricate lore help the game stand out as one of the most influential mobile RPGs to date. Frequent limited banners, seasonal events, and cross-franchise collaborations keep the experience fresh and engaging. The English release allows players worldwide to enjoy the same immersive storyline originally introduced in Japan.
What truly makes FGO exceptional is its narrative ambition. Each chapter takes players through pivotal locations and moments in human history—from ancient civilizations to futuristic worlds—accompanied by impactful character development and dramatic storytelling. Many chapters are written by Type-Moon’s core creators, giving the game the depth of a visual novel combined with RPG mechanics.
Personal Review
As someone who enjoys RPGs with strong storytelling, Fate/Grand Order has been surprisingly memorable. Rather than feeling like a generic mobile gacha game, it delivers emotional arcs, complex themes, and unforgettable character interactions. Every Servant has their own personality, background, and battlefield role, making team building both strategic and personal. The art direction and soundtrack add even more charm.
That said, the game does require patience. Progressing through harder battles and upgrading Servants involves dedication, and summoning rare characters can sometimes be frustrating. However, the satisfaction of completing a challenging chapter—or finally obtaining a favorite Servant—makes the effort worth it. FGO feels less like a casual app and more like a long-form story journey that you grow with over time.
Overall, Fate/Grand Order is a unique mix of strategy, emotion, and narrative richness. If you enjoy anime worlds, historical themes, or tactical combat, this is a game that rewards commitment and curiosity.
